The largest recreational open space in Eastern Massachusetts, the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park is comprised of 34 islands and mainland parks that deliver access to historic sites and provide opportunities to hike and camp. Transportation to the islands is by ferry and, depending on the location, your own boat. Please refer to their website for the most up-to-date information about what is open and how to get there.

Pass Benefits

This pass allows for 2-for-1 ferry fees for weekday ferry transportation to the Boston Harbor Islands. Two of a single ticket type must be purchased (two adult, two children)

Visit http://www.bostonharborislands.org/ to learn about the Islands, view park maps and activity calendars and access the ferry schedule.

You must reserve your library pass for the day you wish to visit the Islands and then purchase your ferry tickets. Discount code will be emailed when library pass is reserved.

Currently there is no coupon to pick up for Boston Harbor Islands.

A winding pathway through an atrium filled with flowers, koi fish, and quail allows visitors to walk among butterflies from all over the world. Staff members are available for questions and “show and tell” demonstrations. A continuously running video explains the butterfly life cycle, and exhibits enable visitors to observe eggs, caterpillars, cocoons and chrysalides with information about each species. A gift shop is on the premises. There is a public picnic area and free parking is available.

Mass Audubon maintains about 100 wildlife sanctuaries in Massachusetts, more than half of which may be visited for walks on trails and visits to nature centers and museums. Among these is Drumlin Farm in Lincoln, a working farm with animals and crops, plus exhibits that include native wildlife, such as owls, foxes and deer. A shop on the premises sells items related to nature, such as bird feeders and binoculars.

Pass Benefits

Pass admits up to 4 persons with a copayment of $2.00 per person. (The 4 persons at one time include adults, seniors, or children age two or older). Children under two are admitted free.

This pass is valid at all 19 Mass Audubon Society Sanctuaries, including Drumlin Farm in Lincoln. Each location has its own operating schedule. For nature centers that use timed ticketing, the library pass is NOT your ticket.

Drumlin Farm's trails, barns, and grounds are open to visitors with paid tickets.
The sanctuary is open Tuesday–Sunday from 9 am-5 pm. We are closed on Mondays, except on Monday holidays.

Barns are open to visitors. Indoor public bathrooms are available. No water fountains.

Visitors must wear face masks in all indoor spaces.

* This pass will admit up to 4 people at a 50% discount on tickets to the Museum’s Exhibit Halls. Children under 3 are not included in the count of 4 and are always admitted for free.

*Your Library pass can only be used on the date printed on the pass.

*Please bring your library pass confirmation (printed or displayed on a phone) when you visit.

* When you arrive at the Museum, stop at the Box Office to exchange your library pass and purchase your Exhibit Halls tickets at the discounted rate. If you have any questions or would like to reserve your Exhibit Halls passes in advance to avoid waiting in line the day of your visit, please call 617-723-2500 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily).

The New England Aquarium is home to thousands of aquatic animals, from the giant Pacific octopus to Northern fur seals to little blue penguins. They offer a wide range of exhibits, including a shark and ray touch tank and the Giant Ocean Tank, a four-story coral reef featuring hundreds of Caribbean animals. In addition, they have an IMAX theatre and run whale watch boat excursions in partnership with Boston Harbor Cruises from April through November.
