Burlington Public Schools in partnership with the Burlington Breakfast Rotary and the Burlington Public Library is hosting a community book group series on mental health. Over the next three sessions, we will be discussing three titles (listed below).  A limited number of each book will be available at the Library's Circulation Desk.  Readers are invited to attend any number of book groups they'd like to; the group meets on April 19th, May 24th and June 14th.

This month we will be discussing What Made Maddy Run by Kate Fagan, a #1 New York Times bestseller.  The heartbreaking story of college athlete Madison Holleran, whose life and death by suicide reveals the struggle of young people suffering from mental illness.

This is the story of Madison's life and her struggle with depression, which also reveals the mounting pressures young people (and college athletes in particular) face, especially in an age of relentless connectivity and social media saturation.

Material and topics shared within these books are sensitive in nature and can be triggering.  If you or anyone you know is in need of immediate mental health support please reach out to the Suicide and Crisis Helpline at 988 or the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line at 833-773-2445.
