Attend in person.

On a scorching hot day in Fall River, back in August of 1892, a heinous crime occurred. Spinster Lizzie Borden was accused, tried, and acquitted for the vicious axe murders of her father and stepmother. This true unsolved mystery has fascinated people for over 100 years.

Two people died on that day in 1892, but Lizzie continues to live on in American folklore.

The performance includes a mock trial that invites the audience to participate by questioning Lizzie, and voting on her guilt or innocence. Did she or didn’t she? Let the audience be the judge. The cast opens up to the audience for discussion after the performance.

This “edutainment” production features Lynne Moulton and Joseph Zamparelli in multiple roles depicting Lizzie’s story and educating the audience members so that they may be informed “jurists”.

About Delvena: Delvena Theatre Company was founded in 1992 by a group of working actors. In 1996, the company moved to The Boston Center for the Arts on historic Tremont Street in the bourgeoning South End.  In 2003, Delvena Theatre Company, hearing the call of schools, colleges, libraries, historical societies, senior centers, housing and private organizations, decided to present productions in non-traditional spaces.

This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Burlington Public Library.
